Big Days Ahead

If you aren't following me on social media, then you are missing out! Something very exciting happened this week: I received my author proof! It's amazing and surreal to have a physical copy of a book with my name on it. If you haven't seen the "unboxing" video, check it out below:

Of course, in true book nerd fashion, I have to smell my own book. Man, if they could capture that scent and put it in a candle, I would have them all over the house. Old book, new book, it doesn't matter. There's something relaxing about the smell of a book's pages.

So, what does this mean for you, the reader? Well, in my last blog, I hinted at bumping up the release date. After reviewing my copy and making some incredibly minor changes, I'm pleased to announce Angel of Death: In the Beginning will be available to buy on March 31!! I'll add the links to Amazon, B&N, and Apple on that day.

Here's a question for you: Do you want a free signed copy of In the Beginning? Of course you do! If you sign up for my newsletter right now, you'll have an opportunity to receive a copy with my John Hancock, and it's going to be FREE! What's the catch? Well, I'm only giving away 20 copies and my current subscribers got first dibs earlier this week. That means I've only got 7 left to give away!

If you want to be one of those lucky 7, here's what you do: click here to go to my "Books" page and use that subscription sign-up box. Please note, it MUST be that form on the "Books" page and no other form anywhere else on my website. That is the only form on my entire website that will alert me to your desire for an autographed copy of the physical book. All the others will subscribe you, but you won't be added to the list for a free signed copy. So you need to act fast if you want one! And all the fields of that form must be filled out completely; I have to know where to send the book, don't I?

**Side note: I'll be ordering these in bulk on 3/26 so that I can send them all out at once. So 3/25 will be the last day to sign up for your copy unless I run out before then!**

That leads me to the real "why"? Why should you even buy my book? Well, let me tell you a little about it and what makes it stand out.

Angel of Death: In the Beginning, at its core, is a story about finding yourself and what it means to be accepted for who you are. When you follow Skyelar, our main character (MC), you follow her on the beginning of this journey for inner strength. When the entire world seems like it blames her for their problems, she has to find it within herself to rise above them and forge her own path.

As we all know, it's tempting to fight fire with fire, and Skyelar is not perfect. She gets angry and she causes more damage, sometimes, out of spite for those who want to hurt her. It makes you wonder if she'll ever get out of this mess.

But that's the good news. We all get like that sometimes, don't we? Frustration over a given situation just builds up and we just might take an eye for an eye. When we do that, we are faced with the consequences. Sometimes we can handle it, but other times, it's all too much and we dig ourselves into this abyss from which it seems we can never climb out.

That's what makes Skyelar special. She has this magic, this power that she can use to make her Life easier, but she doesn't know how. She's been beaten down and hurt by too many people to trust her own instincts. Raise your hand if you can sympathize...

It's difficult to believe in yourself when no one else believes in you, isn't it? That's why a solid support system is so important. For some, that support system is family and friends. But, what if--like Skyelar--it isn't? Well, that's the journey she's on. Learning to trust herself first so she can make room for others in her heart.

Next, that begs the question of what Heaven and Hell have to do with this? Well, that's an answer for a few books down the road in the series. What I can tell you, however, is Heaven and Earth are bound together. What happens in one place impacts the other. Sometimes it's in subtle ways that no one notices. Other times, it's in the form of an answered prayer or a veil being lifted. As the series goes on, you'll see how intricately they intertwine, but this is just the beginning...

See what I did there?

Anyway, expect for this book to be a nice slow burn as you are introduced to the people of Earth and the Angels in Heaven. Overall, In the Beginning is a tale of love, family dysfunction, self-discovery, and believing in a little magic. What happens when Humans are no longer at the top of the food chain? Well, they fight back against their predators. But, will they succeed? Well, that's for me to know and for you to find out. Just like most other questions I'm sure you'll have relating to the future of Skyelar and the Jericho family. This book is just the beginning, folks. We've still got a long way to go and one Hell of a road to take to get there!

Long story short, if you're looking for a new book that is based on reality with a little bit of magic (from a genre we like to call "mythical realism") and romance, then this is definitely the book for you! So set your calendar for March 31 to buy your copy and get ready to fall in love with the world of Angel of Death.

That does it for this week, my lovelies. Next week, we celebrate St. Patty's Day with a special edition released on March 17. So, if you're looking for some good recipes to celebrate, check out that blog next week and I'll share some of our favorite things.

Love Always,
